Avoid closed roads?

Today Louise (my satnav) was being very difficult.

I'd set to go to Fussen, just to see the lie of the route and pick up a town on the route that was within driving distance. She said there was a closed road and did I want to avoid it? Pretty stupid question I thought but I said Yes, avoid. When I selected a place within driving distance she didn't mention the closed road so I thought it was beyond that point.

But no, as I'm driving along I get a long-winded message to the effect there's an update, and a closed road and she's going to redo the route. No question. But the buttons were No, Info and Yes.

I pressed yes and she rejigged. But she kept doing that, maybe 7 or 8 times.

Firstly I don't think there should be a long-winded message, requiring input, when you're driving.

Secondly, I can't think of any situation where you wouldn't want to avoid a closed road. Why is there not a setting for 'always avoid closed roads', as they have for motorways?

Has anyone else experienced the same? Any solution?

It's a TT Camper 1005(?)

On my old TT720 there is a setting some where to automaticly accept diversions, I have it set to ask me first.

Hi

Can't think where you will find it but in Settings somewhere have you got an option that says Ask me so I can choose. Usually relates to If there is a faster route .

In Vehicle and route types there's an option 'Do you want to enable restriction and dead end warnings?'

I have Yes. If I change it to No, will it plan to avoid those restrictions? Or will I rock up at a closed road?

I think I changed it to No before your post Doug but didn't seem to make any difference.

On my truck TT I have it set on yes so it will avoid any Width/Height restrictions which I have set but only advises me of a dead end if I have set a destination to one, usually a campsite, it will not take me to an actual dead end.

I don't remember having this problem before but it may be there's never been a closed road on my route before - unlikely, I'd have thought.

It seems bonkers to me - under what circumstances would you want to use a route that includes a closed road?

I had done the route in the evening - closed road. I then planned the route for the following day - no closed road. But lo and behold, in the middle of the journey it decided there WAS a problem (closed road I think but there's too much to read when driving) and took the original detour.
