Walking app wanted.

Hi Y'all.
Have been using Strava as a walking app to record my walks. But after reloading the phone it now insists I create an account and I don't want to.
Anyone know of a walking app you just click start and end.??

Just tried a couple more and all wanted me to register or join via FB or Twatter. Another wanted all my details so deleted them.

Ray.

I use the “Health” app. Free and no need to input personal data.

Seems to do the job and you can add medical history data (if you wish) which is accessible if required by medics

Does that one actually record your walk (as in geographically?) I thought it just recorded the steps.

Thanks Kabundi but far too complex for my simple needs. I just tried 'fitbit' but again it wanted me to 'join'.

Ray,

I use MapMyWalk https://www.mapmywalk.com - you do have to sign up though. I don't like signing up for a bucketful of spam, so tend to create a dedicated e-mail address for such things - the one I used for MapMyWalk has never received anything other than confirmation mails relating to the app. There are a few adverts within the app - but they are not intrusive imho.

The app is easy to use - click to start, click again to pause, click again to either resume or finish. You can add notes or pictures if you want to - and you can choose to share your walks or not. There is a companion app MapMyRide which does the same thing for cycling.

I know you said that you didn't want to sign up for an app, but if you use a single use email to do so, what's the harm? You don't have to tell them your name, Pike

Regards,
John

Brilliant and thanks John.
Will give it a go as I do have a few e-mail addresses I rarely check.
Strava on the phone before I reset didn't ask for anything but I guess things change.

Try this. I have it on my phone for when I go out cycling but it is also good for walking.

Yeah, thanks Charlie.
But another one that wants you to create an account or get 'linked' with Farcebook. Why as it's so annoying.
