Tomtom camper older version bricked by last update

Anyone else with the older style Tomtom camper thats packed up recently?

Its the version based on the Go live 1005

I know of quite a few that have packed up in the last couple of weeks

Symptom either it is stuck on opening screen or in a continuous restarting loop

The last upgrade from Tomtom appears to be the culprit

I have managed to fix a mate of mines by changing from the full european map to a smaller zone map

Plenty of complaints on tomtom’s user forum

Also noticed that some users on Fun have commented on theirs dying and have replaced them thinking its a hardware fault But its not its software

We had a TomTom One XL which we used for years in the MH, and used it in many EU countries when using hire cars, and it was a really good. For some reason (like you do!!) about three years ago, we decided that it would be nice to have a more up to date version with a slightly bigger screen, and purchased a TomTom GO5000.

Well, it's OK up to a point, but nowhere near as good as the OneXL, and downloading updates in our experience is a complete nightmare, and it still doesn't know many "new" roads which have been in existence for some considerable time.

We've been thinking of buying an alternative satnav, and have been looking at Garmin products, ( particularly the RV 770 LMT-S) which all look good when you watch their promotional videos, but whatever you buy, it's quite expensive to justify further purchases sometimes.

Don't they want us to know??

I haven't updated recently so I won't till this has (maybe) been resolved.

Please keep us updated.

Nope. I'm logged into myDriveConnect, and into TT online but I still get the error message.

If you have a tomtom go live 1005 camper I would suggest you dont do the v10.20 map upgrade via MyDriveConnect
