Don't do it!! That's the problem map. You're talking about the whole Europe map?

I'd put it all on mine so I could get from home to Croatia without having to change maps midway - big mistake!

Doug, thanks for the link - I'll have a look when back on the computer. For some reason, on the phone, all the text is limited to lines of about 6 letters max down the LHS!

The very latest camper map v1025.9449.
It is what I loaded from My Drive, from the information on the site telling me to download it, it is the version with the necessary fixes to make it work.
It is a full Europe map not in sections.
Perhaps there are other maps for units other than the 1005 Camper.

The last time I looked on the Forum the topic you want was on page 3. Just scroll through until you find it once you are logged into it.

I was able to find it (their search facility is pretty poor!!) and update - thanks Doug.

You've put the whole of Europe back on John - and it's still working?

What was the version that was messing up?

Hi Jean

I forgot you're trying to find which category the topic was in. If you click on Recent Discussions top right you see all the latest with the most recent at the top.

I am so used to using that method I didn't think you would not do the same. Anyway I have "liked" your Post on TT.

Sorry about that

That's a worry. I'd hoped that by installing a new SD card, the original mapping might remain and the much larger, original map be downloaded to the new card.

From what I'm reading here now, the old mapping is deleted and the SD card simply acts as a memory overflow?

I'm still tempted, because although the updates are a little quirky to install, if I'm patient and persist, everything seems to come good in the end.

Mine's a TomTom Go50 bought about 3 years ago, and is superb. Last year I downloaded other 'recommended' Satnavs to my smart phone as an experiment, and after testing, deleted them all.

Hi Jean, I've always had only the full European Camper map installed on it, I've no idea if that is any different to any others available.

At the moment yes it is still working, my Son-in-Law now has it.

Hi John If you are going to Add some extra memory to your GO50 then I suggest a Micro Sd Class 10 16GB or 32GB which will be plenty of memory if you are loading a Full European map on it. The GO 50 only has 8GB of internal memory and so the Full European Maps will not Fit as it is now 8+GB..

Regarding the old Map staying this will depend on what map it is. If it is the European Map that came with the unit then if you have Lifetime updates then the new European Map will be loaded as an update and the old map will be deleted even if the New map has to go on the New memory. The only way you could avoid the Old map being deleted would be to Buy a Map and then that can be loaded as well though the problem with that is unless you can get it with Lifetime updates after a year you will have to pay. So no point.

Hi According to Tomtom here are 3 models of TT 1005's with Serial Numbers starting SE,SF and SJ only have 2 or 4 GB of internal memory and have no External memory slot that will take a card. The 1005 model Serial No starting ST has 8mb of Internal Memory and has the option for adding extra memory. The list the GO 1005 with Serial No starting SB and SF are no longer supported. I do wonder if the SE and SB are the same and there is an error on the website.

I am not aware of which serial numbers are the ones suffering problems.

Mine is also an ST with SD card slot - which I've never worked out how to use.
