The "Galaxy S5 " is really a family name rather than a specific model name. Last time I researched it there were 7 different actual model numbers within the S5 "family", each model number having some spec/software differences, from the others ( because aimed at a different region of the globe and/or because of improvements or upgrades). The actual model number, which indicates exactly which specific iteration/spec it has, is printed on the box. It also shows on the startup screen, and is in settings/other/about phone.
It's worth checking exactly the detailed spec for that exact model number. .... as each is different.
Same holds true for other Galaxy "family" names like S4 and S6, which also have several different specific model number varieties within that one name.

I just checked and ours is also SM-G900F.

I have never seen G4 nor LTE displayed as the received signal.

Maybe LTE is not available in your area? On our (Kathy's) S5 when she's on data, sometimes the signal is 4G and sometimes shows instead as "LTE" which seems a lot faster even than 4G. That's here in Spain on our Vodafone contract carrier, and was also the case recently in Portugal whilst roaming there. The LTE signal appears to be only in built up or city areas here, other areas are 4G or only variants of the much slower 3G standard.

I accept it is not always available - I just wanted to check that we could receive it on this S5 model, which we can. But so far we have not seen it - but I do not always look, and we do not go into cities in the MH.

I've just looked at Kathy's phone to double check.
It is indeed also an SMG900F variant of the Galaxy S5, and it can i deed get data at the "4Gplus" LTE speed here where we are pitched up in Mijas Costa on the Costa del Sol (well, actually it's in the cheap but damn good "New China" Chinese restaurant a couple of hundred yards away from the wild camp parking here!)
As yours is the exact same model then so long as your SIM card contract provides for 4G, then so far as I understand it you'll get LTE wherever you can, and "ordinary " 4G (or less ) when LTE ain't available. Certainly LTE coverage here in Spain is still rare.

I think you are referring to the Golf Noria site at La Cala de Mijas. We spent 2-3 weeks there in 2014. On the Cala side of the A7, near to the New China Restaurant, there is good public wifi but on the site itself we were using the wifi from the hotel. I have been told that it's not available anymore.

Sorry to go off topic.....
