Brecon caravan club site is about a mile walk along a pleasant canal path into town
Station campsite in Carrog is right next door to the Llangollen steam railway station so you can jump onto the steam train in the morning, spend the day in lovely Llangollen and get the last train back - campsite facilities are basic but pitch prices are good
Norden Farm just outside Corfe Castle is a lovely site with a bus stop right outside, buses to Poole etc. You can also get the steam train about half a mile up the road and will take you into Swanage
Cardiff Caravan site is right in the middle of the city bordering Bute park, Pricey at around £28 a night but given the location...
..and if it's a rugby weekend, you've no chance of getting in - boyo!

You can cycle in to the city quite easily, but unless you're cycle fit, it's a hard and steep cycle back to the site.

A good CC 5 van site at Durham rowing Club. It is an easy stroll along the river bank to the town centre

Brecon is a great site for walking the lovely canal.

In the town is the Regimental Museum of the Royal Welsh, and it's well worth visiting their room set aside for the Zulu Wars. It describes the 1879 Anglo-Zulu War, together with the disaster of Isandlwana and the incredible defence of Rorke's Drift by B Company of 2/24th Foot. 11 Victoria Cross awards from one action.

Thanks Ray, all those years living in Durham and I didn't know that was there. I suppose I only got to know Grange as I used to store my caravan there before I opened up the land at the side of my house.

Both were too close to home for me to stay at either,

Ken.
