Closing down again

Yesterday the Norwegian govt closed down unnecessary foreign travel again citing rising Covid-19 numbers both home and abroad.

I haven't been abroad at all this year and now it won't happen. I had a small hope things would continue to get better so that a trip abroad in the fall could happen. But no.

It is still legal to go abroad. But crossing the recommendation from our govt means insurance issues etc. So I will not go. Don't wan't to catch this mess either.

I think it’s a good choice Christine

Covid regulations on travel change so quickly

I think we will give it a miss this year too, I notice many policy’s exclude Covid

Ignore restrictions at your peril, it is simply not worth it as the cost is potentially massive- insurance may be invalid, health cover not available perhaps even vehicle insurance invalid if against Government advice.

Stay at home, or in home country and wait for any trips until schools have gone back - from about 5th September onwards - that way you are not contributing to the overcrowding that is currently being seen in Dorset, Devon and Cornwall.

It makes no sense to go, but not be able to get back, wherever you want to be.

Any typo that I make means the errorists win.

Any comments above are only MY OPINION and should be read as that.

I guess you have to think about how much at risk you are. I know some have gone. Im just off to a quiet CL / Rally field next week where I know what to expect and its only 100 miles back home if we decide its not for us this year.

Wise decision Barry

The weather hasn’t been great lately up North though

This weekend looks to be dry if cloudy

Looks like we may get the thunderstorms without the sunshine

Vehicle insurance is NOT affected, it is ONLY holiday health/cancellation/curtailment cover that has any restrictions about travelling contrary to FCO advice.

It’s written into holiday insurance policies but not into any vehicle insurance policies. (Check your vehicle policy, you won’t find it)

Think about it for a minute.......... If vehicle insurance WAS affected how would you get on if you are abroad at the time the FCO say “Essential travel only” You are not suddenly going to be uninsured are you??

Andy

Its not the destination that matters.

It's who you share the journey with (even if like me, it’s in a caravan!)
I am very fortunate to have Mrs Plodd to share mine with

But if you are affected by Covid

can you get back in time ?

Although by my experience would it matter ?

I was so sick and not a GP would visit

Phone 111, and no one would answer

My daughter brought in an emergency team member

But the GP ignored his advice

Don’t risk it

It isn’t good here and it certainly is good abroad

There is always the Emerald Isle, stare long enough after a good lunch at the Cliffs of Moher and imagine youself in a deep fjord.

We have such a beautiful country and yet we all yearn to go abroad. We are working hard, in sweltering heat, on the foundations of our new bungalow. As soon as they are done we hope to find a nice CL in Kent, near our daughter, and have a break. Sods law the weather will break
