Couple of items of interest for those going to Spain

Have a look at this link:
https://www.thinkspain.com/news-spai...s-from-january

Some toll morways will be toll free soon and others will follow as the franchise to run them expires.

Secondly they are following the French by reducing the speed limit on secondary roads , albeit from 100 to 90.

Can’t see the Spanish taking the SLIGHTEST notice of any reduction in speed limit can you?

Andy
eurajohn and greygit like this.

Its not the destination that matters.

It's who you share the journey with (even if like me, it’s in a caravan!)
I am very fortunate to have Mrs Plodd to share mine with

Geoff, I'd think that an over 3500Kg van will be classed as heavy (as is case in UK or France etc.), although without official confirmation I'd stick to the lower limit.

With regard to the 3500kg do the Spanish authorities have full access to the DVLA database? Asking as my MH came out of the factory at 3500 but I had it upped to 3850kg.

The point is that´s not the Point!

Why would they care?

If you're of a nervous disposition stick to the lower and correct legal limit limit and if not don't and take the chance. For sure if they do bother and the take the time to look at your plated weight it'll be the more recent plate along with the info. on your V5 that'll count. Personally I'd guess that they couldn't care less and it won't arise unless you get caught going along at well over the limit for the lighter van.

Brexiters. It's your sh1t now. Whatever happens nationally and internationally you own it. I wish you luck. I think you're going to need all you can get and then some. Friday 13th December 2019.

I bet the tolls will be free after I have used them to get to Portugal.

The last time we went there (and stuck to the limits) I was informed that it is quite OK to exceed the limit while actually overtaking.......

I do not know if this is true or not so can anyone give me some reliable information ?

Any typo that I make means the errorists win.

Any comments above are only MY OPINION and should be read as that.

The Spanish Police FB site explains that you can exceed the limit when overtaking, BUT only in certain circumstances.

Edit, the link above provides a great resource that covers many aspects around driving in Spain.
