Austrian go box query

Hi, bought and used go box for 1/2 day that I was in Austria (fortune) when I got home I sent off reg docs etc. Mercedes 2013, I assume it is euro 5! But just had letter saying that I need to prove the vehicle is euro5. Doesn't say on reg docs what emmisions are anyone had similar probs

Do you have your certificate of conformity? It is sometimes on that.

Just found a website for a conformity certificate,they want £65. Gonna cost a lot of money for a few hours on Austrian roads

You should have this with all your paperwork when you purchased your van. I believe it's a legal requirement. But I will stand corrected on that.

If you haven't got one.................we didn't then Fiat will provide an official letter that supposedly as good for €30.

Personally I'll give Austria a miss and go where motorhomes are more welcome.

It is quite possible to drive in Austria without the GoBox if you are over 3.5t. Just look for the B roads...

We did it the other year coming back from Italy. I reckon the B roads probably provided a more interesting drive as well.

But I have "heard tales" of diversions forcing traffic on to the motorways and then drivers being fined for not having the go box............or were they gassed I can't remember.
