Five years ago I imported my Hobby to France. Filled in the necessary 'export' part of the V5 or SORN doc and sent off to DVLC. Got an acknowledgement and proceeded to register the van in France.

Last month after five year the DVLC have sent me a "Last Chance' to tax or SORN or be fined £80 or even have the van crushed if I don't.

Hang on a minute though - does that mean we need not tax our vans again until we get the final warning notice in 2018?? Sounds like it if you can avoid all the penalties just by re-taxing it!!

I've got an onrunning saga with them, according to them they haven't been notified that I've got rid of the previous van, they have been told THREE times, I now have 2 weeks to pay a £35 fine

Their robotic telephone system is unbeatable

A visit to the local dvla was a waste, they can't even speak to anyone there.
