Geoff
In the good old days it was a common practice to buy second hand in Germany, there are many LHD mh's in Ireland and the majority of people are quite happy with LHD.
We tend to see the benefits of being LHD when in Mainland Europe outweighing the disadvantages here where our environment is familiar.
The KPH speedo is not an issue as we are KPH since 2005
When time comes to changing having a LHD opens up the possibility of doing a deal on Mainland Europe also.
As for the unit at Cara, perhaps it was a customers special order, either here or the UK, which fell through or maybe acquired by them from a German dealer for a knockdown price.
Things are very difficult in the new and imported secondhand market here. A combination of depressed purchasing power and a change in our Vehicle Registration Tax (VRT) last year which put a 13.5% tax based on the Open Market Selling Price (OMSP) on all new motor caravan registrations, both new and secondhand.
