Apparently the Varta blue dynamic b36 is suitable as a replacement and I can get this from Tanya - which I seem to recall has a good reputation on here?

Anyone any suggestions or comments?

I've decided to replace the 11-Yr-old battery as I wouldn't have confidence with the old one.

Strewth Jean, if the original battery is still going after 11 years you have been on borrowed time for a while now.
As I change my own I have found the equivalent large supermarket 3 year warranty ones good value especially when on special and using some loyalty points.

Ray.
p.s. I do have a spare just in case.

I didn't doubt it for a moment Ray!!
I trust Tanya and they have always (literally) delivered the goods rapidly and economically two leisure batteries + delivery here in 47 hours, for half the cost of one from a supermarket here (LeClerc).

It was a no-brainier and their specialist advice has proved 100% reliable.
Thanks Dave - and great to see you back giving advice!

I will have to take a look at Tanya as and when another one is needed then Dave. My last Golf Diesel was €199 at VW, €99 at Carrefour but 20% off on special and another ten Euros loyalty points. €78 and three year warranty.
Personally Carrefour is always more expensive here than all other supermarkets for provisions and wine though.

Ray.
