Fiat Ducato Euro 6D Engines

I am in the process of changing my Rapido 9048DF for a Rapido 883F with the 180 engine. I have been having a look at the engine spec from the Fiat website and it states that due to the new engine design it does not use/need AdBlue which is fine by me, however the technical blurb from Rapido includes a 19 Litre AdBlue tank.

https://www.fiatcamper.com/en/news/euro6

So a bit more Googling found that the Fiat Euro 6 engine for motorhomes is AdBlue free but Fiat Euro 6 engines for MINIBUSES use AdBlue for some reason.

Now my question is for those with this new Euro 6 180 engine.

What system is it? Has the design/spec been updated since 2016?

Cheers

Alan

I am no expert but I believe all the Ducato euro6 d [temp] engines use adblu as opposed to the earlier euro6 b engines which did not. They new engine has a smaller fuel tank fitted to allow for the adblu tank and a smart alternator system. https://www.fiatcamper.com/en/news/latest-2019

Thank you Ray.

That explains it all. I did not find this updated newsletter.
