Reminder. Grease my nipples.

Just a reminder to previous thread by Graham aka GMJ

If so:-

- Is this something that you folks are aware of and have done?

- Is it an item that would be routinely done on a base service or something that should be asked for explicitly?

Cheers
Graham

As I posted in the original thread.

''with regard to greasing the axle. I've found an easy way and I know it's been done. I take my motorhome to a local garage for it's mot. They have to jack up the rear wheels to check as part of the test. I ask the tester to grease the said nipples and give him a few quid for his trouble.''

It's been almost 2 years since the original post. I've just returned from this years successful MOT and the axels are all re-greased.

Just a reminder to something that is easily overlooked.

Frank

Yes done annually when we get the damp survey, and engine service by our dealer.

It applies to those vehicles using an ALKO chassis, but I don’t know about other makes.

Must be done with the load off the axles, i.e. supported on the chassis member, wheels hanging free.

You can teach a turkey to climb a tree but, on the whole, it´s better to hire a monkey.

Yes that has always been my concern when I have had the van serviced but I guess any grease is better than no grease.
