Milly, you say you can push the back down with the crash bar, so I assume you mean the back end containing the motor is hingeing in relation to the main part of the scooter.

If you are, that suggests you have unlocked it. I think what you need to do is, while you are pushing the rear down, grab the seat post and pull that upwards at the same time and the 2 parts should separate. Easier if the wheels are free to turn.

If the 2 parts are not hingeing, there will probably be a latch behind the seat post that you can hook your fingers under. Pull it up and pull up on the seat post.

I assume you have the motor disengaged from the wheels as you would never be able to move the scooter otherwise.
