I would try a run through with Malwarebytes first as recommended. Never heard of HDClump. I think Mrs D had a similar issue with her W7 laptop but I Cant remember how I resolved it. I think I just activated it again using the product ID on the back of her laptop. There are several reasons why this can happen and malware is one of them so rule that out first.
