Need shower faucet for old Hymer

My 20 year old Hymer needs a new faucet in the bath. It needs to have a built in switch and a pull out tube for the shower with on off spray button. Looking all around I can't seem to find one. The switch in the old one does not make contact. I tested the wiring to it and it is fine. And the switch does not seem to be fixable, can't even get to it.

Post them John. Then everybody can try to help.

I can remember having had that type of shower arrangement in wet room type bathrooms with integral shower on boats. Looking on a few boat accessory sites might help.

I disconnected the micro switch in the tap and fitted a bell push in the the bathroom of boats a few times to prevent guests taking showers as though they were at home thus thoughtlessly using huge quantities of water.

A bell push works OK. It's a bit inconvenient when showering and has to be within easy reach. But it's good enough and does save water.

I have always found CAK Tanks to have an extensive range of suitable plumbing articles;

http://www.caktanks.co.uk

Their catalogue is incredible with a number of things that I could not even have thought of, so it may be worth a browse to see if they have the right item, or something that could be used to replace it by just a little lateral thinking.

Good luck.

Any comments above are only MY OPINION and should be read as that.

Here are some pictures, some years ago I had to glue the lever on top, I pulled it off now and can see the switch which may work if cleaned, but with all the hassle of putting on a new faucet should it fail again I think a new one is in order.

Since we don't use camp grounds much the shower does get used a lot. We are careful about the length of showers unless in a sport where we can get water.

I just scanned their catalog but did not see anything that might work.

Have a look at page 33 of the CAK Tanks catalogue and I think you will find what you are looking for, the mixer and the shower hose to top handset are bought separately but are listed on that page. We used a handset with a trigger so that we can turn it off at the handset while in use, to save water and prevent moving the mixer tap. That works very well.

I believe there are two versions one with micro switches,nthebother eithout for a pressure system which we have.

Hope you can find what you want.

Comet seems to be the main player.
