His Nobel Peace Prize somehow passed me by as I was unaware that he got it I often thought that someone should have got something for the amazing achievement that was the Good Friday Agreement. A great man indeed. It speaks volumes of him that he faded into the background once he had achieved his goal.
One remembered John Hume verbal exchange that’s just as relevant today....

No from what I know of John Hume it was his unshakable faith in the possibility of peace that lead to the Good Friday Agreement
A lasting legacy to the memory of the man
I imagine all sides of the dispute owe gratitude to his determination to find a peaceful solution
