CCTV any recommendations?

We are, because of the awful spate of dog thefts at the moment, considering cctv. I see that there are some wireless battery options for diy or there are the professional type ones installed by a firm. I suppose that they might all require a smart phone (which we don't have) or could it go to an ipad or laptop?
Any help gratefully recieved.

I went for a cheap mains mains powered camera (no problem with a battery going flat) It records onto a micro SD card in the camera in 30 minute chunks. It continually overwrites the card after a couple of days. Both the live picture and recordings are accessible via the Internet.
Don’t ask me what I bought as it was a few years ago now.

Its not the destination that matters.

It's who you share the journey with (even if like me, it’s in a caravan!)
I am very fortunate to have Mrs Plodd to share mine with

Thanks Andy, will take a look. Do you have any other tips on security? We do have locking drive and garden gates which we lock if the dog is outside. A friend who lives in a hot spot has installed a metal gate over her entrance door.

OMG! Now Chris wants one

Might recommend it to my friend as she lives in the Cambridgeshire Fens where dog stealing is rife. She has several Cocker Spaniels which are high on the list of desirable dogs. She has closed her boarding kennels (her main livelihood) because they will steal all the guests. She has installed professional grade CCTV and the security gate too. I suggested she get a large breed guard dog but she said the thieves just poison them Either that or they drive over the chain tethering the dog and beat it to death! Scum! Utter Scum!

The Land Mine is supplied with scaring cartridges but there is nothing stopping you putting in 12g lead shot cartridges.I would assume it would make a mess of someones legs as the shot spread out.
I am surprised they are still on sale as I bought mine 20 years ago and expected them to be withdrawn. I feel if you have had problems before it's quite legitimate to try and protect your property.

Ray.
