Ancient. Its not there now, I think it went in the skip about a year ago. It was connected to an old Server thats been there since 2003. Still worked so no need to junk it.

After wandering around my old home town of Darlo (Darlington) the other day it left me a bit sad as it seems like many towns to have lost its soul. Shops boarded up. Pubs looking like big corporate sh1t houses and where are all the old grungy old bars and clubs? Gone for ever. Jimi (Who art in heaven Hendrix) once played a gig there in the old Imperial centre. Bands like the Jam played there and we had some great bars and clubs. The old Bowes Cellar bar, Old Dun Cow, Green Dragon and of course Posh bar and night club Perry’s had a big Rock Cellar where we would hang out on a weekend, watch bands, get pissed, smoke weed and play with girls. All gone now or so it seems.

So I wrote this all about my home town and a dedication to one of my favourite artists, Jimi Hendrix. A bit brave (or stupid) taking on an icon like Jimi, like trying to be Queen or The Who but feck it, it’s louder than “A Who” for sure In the end though it sounds nothing like Jimi's guitar although I thought it did last night after a few cold ones. Its more heavy metal than that old Valve sound that Jimi got. I cant replicate it.

A prize for recognising the correct number of “Jimi” songs referenced.

Lyrics below If you’re interested.

Feelin frayed and disarrayed
The same game you always played
Going down the old home town
Think it’s dying people lying around

No more dragon where’s the cow
Blacked out windows all there is now
Use it lose it now it’s gone
Down the cellar smoking a bong

Chorus

Jimi says there’s a purple haze
Crying with Mary in a daze
She’s a foxy lady running wild
Crossing Traffic with her voodoo child

Your feeling smoky feeling mild
But the old place has you riled
Don’t last forever playing that game
Down in the dungeon it’s not the same

The old guy with the dancing girls
Danced his last hung up his pearls
There’s a plaza now out of town
By the sign of the American clown

Chorus

Were you rockin to the sounds of fire
Popping pills in the crossfire
Now your playing with all the rest
Instead of playing with the best

Chorus x 2

Cool feedback
