I have a 2005 Swift motorhome and I want to run some 12V wires around inside to put USB sockets a) by where the table goes and b) up by the bed, for charging phones. Does anyone have advice on how to run wires inside the walls? Is this possible, even? Or must I resort to putting it inside trunking?
there are several ways depending on the layout of the cupboards etc and of course how tidy you want it your tools and abilities.
Generally I would start next to the leisure batteries but not connected, usually, these are below a bed/seat so you could opt for ease and have them at that height and save a lot of work, or if the wardrobe is handy to the bed, go up inside that then into an upper locker and proceed from there, B&Q do a wood effect or plain white trunking with elbows and tees to hide it all.
Ensure that you use plenty of clips to secure the cable run, the last thing you want is a rattling cable that you can no longer reach due to a cupboard being built around it. Also, avoid connecting cables together if you can, try to use one long run of cable.
