Truma Saphir comfort IR air con

So the new van has this air con system in it, the original remotes batteries had leaked and the thing wouldn't switch on.
I bought a new remote, which is the black one , not the grey like the original, but following the instructions it seems to have paired. But the air con won't start up. Now , I don't know if it's the wrong remote or the remote receiver or the unit that's at fault, so my question is.... does anyone know a way to by pass the remote and switch it on manually. BTW, pressing a pen into the emergency switch hole in the receiver doesn't do anything and there is 240v to the base unit. .
You can guess want I'm up to this weekend 🔨🔧🔩🔨 ☹️️

I guess you've got the instructions but just in case https://www.truma.com/uk/en/air-cond.../downloads.php, page 17/80 of the RC model seems to indicate that the remote is the only means of on/off and there's no wiring diagrams in the Truma installation manual.

Truma never gives wiring diagrams, except in the tech books, I can never find anything online either.

yeah, thanks for that, I do have the instruction sheet.
Problem is its that tightly packed into its recess that you can't get at it, not without taking the whole of the area around it apart.
I need to know the remotes actually paired with it and working before I can go any further.
Don't suppose theres anyone around the Lancashire area that has the Saphir comfort IR that would let me test my remote on there system for pairing and working.
Cant think of another way of doing it, other than spending a £1000 on a new one----defeatist.

Where did you buy the replacement remote control. Can you get any help from them, such as how does one tell if it is paired up, also what makes you think it has.It seems as if this precludes a trip to the truma dealer to sort it out.

Don't be silly all the time ask your question.

Have you tried cleaning up the old unit, emery board on the contacts and springs? In fact I take it that the springs have quite likely rotted with the demise of the batteries so can to fold up some tin foil and independently pad out each side of the batteries to make the contact. This may give it a burst of life to at least see if you can turn the unit on.

Just a thought and no cost involved

I'd imagine if it was successfully paired up, it would be working.

Well after a long phone call with Truma, they found the correct remote and posted it to me.... guess what, it still doesn't work.😬.
So now it's time to dismantle the van to get the unit out.

It may be better to book a day off and go down to Derby and let them sort it out for you, give them a ring and speak to Richard.
