What do you base that assertion on?

A huge change to the cars, especially to the aerodynamics allowed AND the introduction of ballast to counter driver weight differential will both have significant impacts on lap times. Plus of course there is a drastic reduction in the number of tyre compounds allowed.

Remember that 100th’s of a second per lap make (or DID make) all the difference.

Its not the destination that matters.

It's who you share the journey with (even if like me, it’s in a caravan!)

Looks like the new regs has closed the field up if Aussie quaily is anything to go by, some great results for the rookies as well.

Not all of us have Sky so PLEASE don’t post any spoilers over the coming season because some of us have to wait to view the highlights on Ch4

I DO appreciate that you haven’t posted a “spoiler” above, thanks!!

No problem Andy, I had a screenshot ready to post but thought I might spoil some fun.

Unfortunately it appears Sky have tightened up on what they share, a retrograde step for fans in my view.

Because of the qualifying positions being much the same as last year but I think it will take at least three races before all is clear?

The whole thing is now a VERY hi tech industry and, regardless of the regs the top teams will always be pretty much neck and neck but with slight variations in car design.

I would love to see Hamilton, Vettel, Verstappen and now Le Clerc all in identical cars just to see how they perform on a level playing field.

Maybe they should introduce something like that? Something like a “Super Qualifying” lap run at the end of the season with every pole position driver having to drive the same car on the same track to see who gets THE fastest time. Could prove enlightening eh? Especially if they have to drive one of the lesser teams cars.

I have not yet watched the Oz GP so no spoilers please!

and you have presumably not seen the BBC News either where some details about the start, the race and the result was shown ? You are not aware that ********************** won ?

(I have deliberately inserted enough asterisks to ensure no clues from the number.... ?)

See I do think about you, and am aware that C4 is not showing the highlights until 2.00pm GMT.

Any typo that I make means the errorists win.

Any comments above are only MY OPINION and should be read as that.

No to all!!!

I keep lunging at the radio every time the news starts, however your post certainly has me intrigued BUT I am going to treat the 2pm highlights as “live”

To make it even halfway interesting I am going to record from the start and then about halfway through start to watch it so I can fast forward through the adverts. There are so many that one loses the will to live and at my age I sometimes forget what I switched on for!!!

That’s EXACTLY what I did.

Very Interesting result (the race that is)
