A quick update on the river Ebro.

Hi we are into our 4th week in mequinenza next monday and so far on two rods I have caught 5 Siluro 2 over 100lb the rest sub 100lb.

5 Carp, 2 @ 40lb [email protected] [email protected] ish...

Cracked off 6 times when they run into an underwater snag, probably a sunken tree covered in Zebra mussels.. If I am quick enough and can turn them to my left I have a fighting chance in open water, but a big carp with it's head down going for it takes some stopping, a big cat you can't! it goes where it wants for the first 30 min's.

ray.

Just watching a shifty looking geezer in the library searching intently through the 'S' section of the dictionary, he's stopped now.

I think he's up to something. . .. . . ray......

Hi.

If you put your back to the castle and look straight down the river towards Flix we are on the last carp park area on the right hand bank.

To get to us go over the river at the new bridge past the museum, take the first left at the junction at the end of the bridge then left again off the road onto the road that goes down the side of the river, follow that untill you come to a building on your left, take the ramp down and you will see a boat pontoon in front of you, we are at the side of that.

Hi a quick update on the update.

Another cat caught last night at 10.30pm, our first night fish and the last.. Bloody midgies and Mozzis we were eaten alive as they made for our head torches, I like to see the buggers on the outside of the van trying to get in, not the other way round ..

Then today another cat about 80lb and two carp 30lb and 25lb ish.... I never weigh fish anymore as I can gues the weight to a couple of pounds, and usually let them go without taking them out of the landing net after un hooking them..

If a 50lb or 60lb carp comes along the weighing scales would come out..Big cats I can't physically lift out they are toooo heavy.

We have decided we will probably stay here at the side of the river fishing untill the beginning of November before we move South to the Algarve

Hi.

River now very low as they are letting water out at Flix to make leccy, the fish respond well.

130lb cat this morning, then a carp about 20lbs the smallest fish so far, then about 30mins ago the first 50lb + carp since coming here, can't post pictures on this free wifi signal as it is 2 kilometeres away at the museum, and I don't have one of those wifi extender thingies either.

When I tether my smart phone next saturday I will put a picture of it up, I can't pick it up as it is too heavy and slimy so it is on the landing net.

Hi.

My diving mate in N Ireland Ken is also one of the top match anglers there, he keeps saying about our lakes at home where we catch some big weights, "Yer but they are pet fish".. These buggers aren't they are totaly wild and when you get one hanging on your rod you certainley know it..

Not many times when your back is aching and you wish it would stop fighting and pulling....I don't get that in the lakes on site at home .

Musn't gwunble..

When team Walker goes into action it is a sight to behold, Sandra just goes into her support role and like a theater nurse everything is at hand and she passes stuff on time.. except the last big carp, she slipped it into the net then tried to lift iy out.. She couldn't even lift it I don't think you can catch these things, well the big cats at least unless there are two of you.
