Want your app on your PC?

I emailed Maps with me yesterday about an install problem, the advised unmounting mt SD card, install the app then remount the SD card, I happened to mention it would be good to have the app on the pc too, and they said to install this http://www.bluestacks.com/

Just done it and all seems fine.

Very impressed, I just downloaded maps with me onto the laptop, clicked on Scotland and downloaded the full Scottish maps to street level, then England.

Works better than on the phone.

Well done Kev - that really is useful info.

I presume this is the direct URL for what you downloaded - http://www.bluestacks.com/app-player.html

Will it allow you to run other apps on the laptop do you know - like CoPilot? It would be dead handy to plan routes, stops etc., on the lappy (with the convenience of the mouse and large screen) then transfer the file to the phone for use as a satnav.

Thanks Kev for the heads up on this - now I have a 20inch Android tablet!!!!

Just trying to see if I can make the touchscreen work - my PC has the option of touch as an input.

By using the Google apps sync option, I have managed to get most of the apps on that are on my Samsung tablet.

WOW and DOUBLE WOW

Not sure how far it will go, as a lot of my apps require, data, accelerator, GPS etc, just going through my apps now to see if a screen off bigger bigness will be useful on our trip away.

Glad it's of use though, and I hope they keep it going as it is only a beta, no doubt it'll have a charge attached at some point so get in early as they say.

That is absolutely brilliant and works perfectly on my McBook, Kev. Thank you!!!

This clever application, coupled with uncleswede's spreadsheet is going to make things even easier in future.

Have you had a chance to let Dave Burleigh know yet, as he introduced us all to the Android version? I bet he'll be delighted with what you've found.

Dave introduced us to MapsWithMe via Android phones, Kev.

I'll let him know, but give you full credit for what you've found.

Have a great time away in your new van.........You've earned it with what you've achieved by hard work!

I haven't kept up with your build, Kev. Have you completed it then? Have a good time, wherever you are going to. If you are coming up to the Fruitcakes rally in near us, we can meet at last - I will just be a day visitor, having sold the van.
