We had a couple of Kindle Fire 6's, but transferred them to the grandchildren when we bought the Samsungs, we have 2 X 7" and 2 X 10". One 7" we use for Satnav, although all of them have Sygic installed.

I've not been into them for very long, but the 6th gen which I had and would get again although very basic did/does all I need, it picked up any new books quickly and was a good reader, what I specifically liked is I could read in bed without waking Liz as the screen was not so bright, and the matt screen helped in daylight, but I bought a matt screen for the Android to get around the glare problem. I'll have to see how I get on with the app, but I know I could use the Kindle for weeks with no charge needed.

We still have two Sony E-Readers with a load of books installed, they were a bit clunky to use but OK once you got used to it.

The Galaxy Tab4's have been brilliant, we have 128gb USB sticks loaded with films that we can watch, in addition to the 16gb internal memory and the 64gb SD card. That's where the Kindles fall down,

I didn't have it long enough to use up the 2gb internal memory, but I don't know if I have the time to read that many books anyway, 1100 seems to be plenty, and once bought can be deleted, plus I have a 4000 book library to wade through, I'm on my way through books I've heard of, but either haven't read yet or read when I was a nipper, and really enjoying being back into reading after good long lapse.

Kindle found, the lad who bought the Kontiki rang as he struggles with knobs (so do I) he couldn't remember how to do the heating on gas, so I walked him through it, and I just happened to ask, you haven't found a Kindle have you?, yes he said??????? but it doesn't work, well it did when I last used it, so he's posting it back to me.

I could swear I took it with me for the Autocruises MOT.
H1-GBV and H1-GBV like this.
