I purposely muted the voice on mine in 'settings/sound/mute all sounds'. Perhaps you did this by resetting to defaults?

Is it worth doing the CP update on a Hudl 1?

Did you find any difference?

Nope, haven't noticed one thing that's changed and I've just spent the past 3 hours going through the bloody thing to get these voices back - still diddly squat.

Thanks Cronkle.
I ordered one yesterday from Tesco Direct and we picked it up at store today.
The car charger came with a mains charger, also a 3 metre and 1 metre lead.
Cost 12
Thanks again, I had forgotten we had no car charger for the Hudl

I had two 12v cigarette power sockets put into my van, and attached the hudl to see if they charge, which they did.

I am using a 4.0 amp charger from amazon, which can power my ipad / phone etc.

Id highly recommend it and it charges the hudl very quickly. you use the same supplied lead and attach it on the usb.

That explains it...

I'd had all sorts of problems with my Hudl 1 on the last trip to Spain and France with the thing not keeping up with the charging when using Co-Pilot. I shut down everything else on the Hudl but without improvement. Quite frustrating when you are just approaching Paris and it drops out!!

I had thought that the inverter using the mains charger would have coped but it didn't. Psst don't tell my wife as she suggested that I upgrade to an iPad to solve the issue!!

What amperage does your charger provide ? Most are 1.0-, some are 2.1, and the quick charger 240v plugs are 3.0.

That's why I was supplied with the 4.0 amp one. It works really well on my iPad and my sons hudl.

Thanks for that Robbosps.

This is now my fourth attempts at replying to your message. Does everyone have trouble with the so called security now being thrust at us to verify our id. I am logged on but still need to go through hoops to to prove that I am not a machine. Maybe I would be more sympathetic if the site had accepted my recent renewal with better efficiency...

OK another try...

I have been using the Hudl's mains charger(2 amps) through the vehicle's inverter (PSW inverter) but it hasn't been keeping up with the Co-Pilot. Maybe I will need to look at the fast charger. Does the iPad suffer from the same issues,i.e. the standard chargers don't keep up with the Co-Pilot?

Okay I will try again to get this posted...

Thanks for your help...

Not sure what security issues your having, my iPad remembers my password and I seem to always be logged in.

Anyway, so far we've plugged the iPad into the 4.0 a,p charger whilst games are played, constantly ( heavy drain) and it keeps up more than is needed.

I don't use co pilot, and still use my sat nav from garmin.
