Gmail question

I use Gmail to send a travel blog to friends and family. In the past I've put all the emails into the To: field but I want now to use the BCC field. However I can see no way to create an email with the Travel News group of contacts in the BCC field. Only in the To: field. And it seems impossible to cut that list and copy it to the BCC field. I think this may only have been since a recent update? The names go in, in little oblong bubbles, for example Bob, Pat, Jim etc rather than seeing [email protected]

Any ideas? Remember, this is on my android phone.

Also, if I enter the name of the group gmail doesn't like that at all.

I use Gmail.

When I compose an email, I click on the 'to' box. Then type the first letter of the recipient's name and a number of possibles come up from my list of contacts.

I click on the appropriate one, and their name (not their email address) appears in the 'to' box.

I think this became the default after the last system 'upgrade', along with other changes that I felt were unnecessary and seemed designed to confooze me.

I'm daft and proud of it.

Yes, mine will work like that too tuggie, but I wanted to use the group name rather than having to remember all the people who're in the group. Otherwise, what's the point in creating a group?

I CAN use the group by finding it in Contacts then electing to Send email - but that puts the group contacts in the To: field with, apparently, no way to copy the list into the BCC field.

When you have the new message open and have added the Bcc field click on Bcc [ which on mine is underlined] and it should bring up your contact list. Click on the My Contacts drop down and your list of groups should appear.

Thanks Ray but when I tap in BCC, then tap the 3 dots top right I see Add from contacts. That takes me to the list of all my contacts but does not include any of my groups.

You should be able to select bcc and then start typing in the name of your group and it will display the name of the group which you select.

No, it doesn't do that gellyneck - it doesn't recognise the name as I type, and when I've completed it and moved away from the field the Travel News is there in an oval bubble in bright red - which I assume means it doesn't recognise it.

Send a message via AIM to Pudsey_Bear Send a message via Yahoo to Pudsey_Bear
I just created a new group to test this, clicked BCC then typed the group name it popped up.

This is on my PC, perhaps the android version is a lite version Jean.

Maybe I should try going thru the Web page rather than the app. Thanks folks!
