I think the key with haveibeenpwned is not to panic if your e-mail address comes up - some of the very large breaches mentioned in HIBP use aggregated data from a variety of other breaches but this rarely goes further than just an e-mail address and passwords/financial data isn't included. they key is to use unique passwords for each site you log into and if a breach is announced, change them.

my e-mail comes up in 5 breaches but 2 of them use aggregated data and the other 3 I either no longer have an account or purchased from them, or I have changed passwords.
barryd, barryd, raynipper and 3 others like this.

and the Lord said unto John "come forth and receive eternal life". but John came fifth and won a toaster........

It was the Google stuff I'm having trouble with. Maybe they don't want you to know.

That's just daft then, if you cannot opt out, I haven't given it permission either, but I get no nagging.

I assume the permission has been given by default Kev.
Try denying it and you might get deluged with these notifications.

I'm not bothered about it Ray, I rarely go on there, any messages go direct to spam.
