Company Owned Motorhomes Insurance

I am experiencing a premium problem in insuring the Motorhome now owned by my Company, purchased yesterday.
Only Aviva would quote and the premium is more than an arm and a leg.
I want to use the van for visiting shows , but the Company owned status has prevented many of the main insurers to offer.

Have others experienced this or do I have to revert the MH to private ownership.

Any comments are appreciated.

Is the Company yours?

I run a medium sized Engineering company and got my insurance through MHF to cover for business use, as I sometimes visit clients in my MH whilst on the way to motorhome events or campsites.
Or just as a nicer way to travel around than using the car.
It's also a great way to break the ice, when conducting business meetings

The premium quoted was not a lot more than my previous Insurance Company, who could only cover use to and from my place of work.

I'm a Sole Trader.

Won't Safeguard cover the vehicle if the registered keeper is a Company, then?

cheers

Give Adrian Flux a try, they actually like to quote for non standard situations.

And they try to be competitive.

thanks Roger , and Kev n Liz ,

Company Vehicles seem to be a no no for every Company I've tried including Adrian Flux and MHF.

Except the very expensive one who has accepted us.

Even so, the proposition may well be advantageous but we are currently looking into the alternative of myself being the owner.

You could almost believe that the situation was orchestrated by HMRC.

Thanks for your comments

If you've not already confirmed a quote, it might be worth trying some of the smaller brokers, I use one called Oakland insurance brokers in Horsham, they usually can help or point me in the right direction, Martin is the man to speak to 01403 888 193, also I seem to remember someone on here going direct to a Lloyds underwriter as no-one would quote on something.
