Does an actual insurance certificate get posted out to us? Only I received an email with a load of attachments or terms and conditions etc but no actual certificate showing names and vehicle reg etc.

We had one from Caravan Guard after they sent me a renewal notice which contained the shcedule, and we had agreed a price it came in the post.
My car insurance asked if I wanted a hard copy or pdf file in which case they emailed it to me.
If you do nothing they will usually ring you anyway.

With the Motor Insurance database it is no longer needed to tax your vehicle. However if it is within 2 weeks of renewal you may need to have one to tax at a Post Office.

You can print your own from the email but it must be done on a lazer printer as inkjet is not acceptable.

I'm pretty sure I got one from MHF, I did have to chase up the documents as they didn't arrive.

The lady I spoke to on the MHF line looked on the system and said they hadn't been produced for some reason and then she did it and sent them.

There was a post on here from someone else not receiving paperwork and having to chase so I 1/2 expected it.

I did get one from MHF insurance on the second email.

When I phoned to query it the fella told me they had had a problem with emails. The second one came through with everything on it.

Give them a bell and they send it to you whilst you are on the phone to check it comes through.

So why is an inkjet print NOT acceptable whilst a laser print is???

They both show the identical information, the text etc is indelibly marked onto the paper so whats the difference? other than one has ink sprayed on the paper and the other has toner applied via an electrostatic charge. End result is the same surely!

I am assuming this was at a Post Office?? I would be querying that information from PO head office asking for a detail explanation, AND an apology.

Sounds like a jobsworth issue to me.

I received a copy of the certificate in the post from MHF as well as the e-mailed one. As for inkjet copies, I have never heard that one can't do that. I've printed them off before and used a copy at the post office for tax disk renewals without any problems.

I emailed them and got the Cert and schedule by return.
Must have been an oversight when they sent the first email.
