Comfort are another company wholly owned by the same people so maybe not quite "entirely different" : http://www.online-consumer-informati...overview.shtml

stear clear of Aviva

Personally I would have nothing to do with Aviva.

They would not honour my New-for-old (read my post of the same title).

It is quite obviously a well rehearsed routine they used as their (invalid) reason was impeccably and consistently held up. Friends in the motortrade are fully aware of the antics they perform.

If you do get anywhere with a replacement vehicle make sure you can check it is not substandard before committing.

If AVIVA or any other Insurer has wrongly refused to honour a claim the Insurance Ombudsman will investigate for you.

If you have complained to AVIVA and been refused then contact the Ombudsman's office. Have you done that and if so what was the outcome? Alan.

Ombudsman is next

Thanx for the info Enie,

I have compalined firstly to my broker, Carole Nash, as it is directly them that I have my contract with. I have certainly raised the shortfall that Aviva have provided, with them.

However Carole Nash appear to be a totally incompetent load of ****holes, so I expect my actuall complaint to the ombudsman will become two, one for each company.

I am presently reviewing the whole situation.

I do however feel that these "insestuous relationships" which exist between the ombudsmen and the company they "try and help you with" are a waste of time and a false front for the (once again) conned public!

Oilslick, I think you may find that the Ombudsman's office are quite fair and reasonable. I hope so, Alan.

Well it's Victor I don't believe it!..

ray.

Just watching a shifty looking geezer in the library searching intently through the 'S' section of the dictionary, he's stopped now.

I think he's up to something. . .. . . ray......
