Personal Aire
Bad news I am afraid Yeti. We have stayed at 'Madames' Clos de Ferrand next to the car park several times. This year she was around £40 a night!! Perhaps as a result of that and the number of wild campers over the last few years, a very low height barrier has been installed to ward them off. This is rather sad because only a few years ago the whole area beside the wild camping was a naturist camping zone, then a family bust up meant that it became two separate camping areas. Finally one of the family has sold off a strip of land between the two camps to non-naturist campers in what look like porta cabins. Sadly, as the price goes up, there appear to be more spaces and we will be unlikely to return. For those who have visited this site, it is always amusing to find any French visitor is always told that the site is full. The owner is French but will only accept non-French clients.

I think the phrase 'pushpin set' may relate to the old felt boards with a map that people used to put different coloured pins into to indicate various different groups. With the advent of GPS maps the same thing has been applied to them. Unfortunately not all GPS machines use the same format but there are conversion tools available to change these over. You will find a selection of uploadable pushpin sets in the Resources/Useful downloads section. I understand that it is not possible to transfer data to some of the entry level GPS machines.

Sardinia - Camping Baia Sareceno - co-ordinates: 41.180156,9.394426

http://www.baiasaraceno.com/

Situated not far from the northern tip of Sardinia and reasonably convenient for the ferry to Corsica, Camping Baia Sareceno at Palau has a small dedicated naturist sunbathing area and swimming jetty.

The majority of the site is textile (clothes required) and is popular with motorhomers. It is attractive and pitches are available right next to the water, which is generally well sheltered.

Photos of the naturist area in the next post.

We stayed in mid-June 2008 and in addition to the designated naturist terrace, we were also able to use the nearby cove a few minutes walk (south-east) from the site, although it may be too busy with swimsuited bathers in peak season.

Krk island, Croatia

Camp Bunculuka - co-ordinates: 44.968813,14.771419

http://www.bunculuka.info/eng/defaul...luka&eID=index

In the Kvarner region of northern Croatia, the island of Krk is connected by a road bridge to the mainland. And, somewhat surprisingly, the international airport for the nearby city of Rijeka is also located on the island. Krk has three large naturist campsites. All are well modernised and maintained; and in especially picturesque Adriatic settings.

Camp Bunculuka, at the seaside resort of Baska on the southern tip of the island, is built on a steep hillside with terraced pitches. It has a good supermarket right on the beach, as well as a bar and restaurant. We visited during July and it was packed.

The other two naturist sites - Camp Politin and Campsite Konobe - are listed in the next post.

Krk island, Croatia

Camp Politin - co-ordinates: 45.022021,14.591576

http://www.camping-adriatic.com/natu...p-politin-krk/

Slightly confusingly, there is also a coastal town called Krk on the
island of the same name. It's a particularly attractive place with lots
of Venetian architecture. On it's eastern outskirts, Camp Politin has
250 pitches and offers all the usual facilities and fine swimming from
a pebble and shingle beach. Sunbeds are available on the large terrace
overlooking the sea.

Campsite Konobe - co-ordinates: 44.991307,14.630849

http://www.hoteli-punat.hr/ItemDetai...1&s=6542&j=ENG

Across the bay from Krk town, Campsite Konobe at Punat is big, with over
500 spaces spread out along the shoreline. There is a long private
driveway down to the site.

All three naturist sites welcome day visitors on payment of a small fee.
No club memberships required.

Absolutely no problem Keith - appreciate your feedback. We all need to see a bit of sunshine at this time of year and start thinking about next summer, especially with the weather as it is.

Actually, I reckon we're addicted and seeing photos isn't quite enough - we only came back from Gran Canaria last week. Shame it's not really practical to take the motorhome there, with the prohibitive ferry costs. Instead took advantage of our local Ryanair route to the island.

We were away for 10 days and for nine of them the shade temperature was 25 degrees or above. We couldn't quite believe the UK snow reports on Sky news!

The naturist beach at Playa del Ingles was busy as always.

Co-ordinates: 27.743546,-15.568936

There's another naturist area further along the shore closer to Maspalomas - co-ordinates: 27.73595,-15.583575

And slightly off topic, there are in the region of twenty hotels on the southern side of the island that offer dedicated naturist sunbathing terraces. We stayed at a couple of excellent ones - Gloria Palace San Agustin and Gloria Palace Amadores. Pics in next post.

Photos taken last week at the Gloria Palace Amadores Hotel, Gran Canaria. The naturist terrace is on the right of the first pic.
