We used to cast solid lead slugs to go into a 12g. cartridge. Could fell a 10" tree when hit. Bloody dangerous when it missed.
Still have some 4/10 ones left.

I never watch horror films and avoid suspense films before bed. Us women are sensitive critters.

With books it will depend on how well written it is.
