Hi, Steve

I would ask you a couple of questions, only it looks like you've run out of free posts. Slide a tenner in :: this direction :: and we can discuss the matter further.

It all depends on how old the van is, I think. Turbo is always better than non-turbo, but if it comes at the right price, who's to say? Also, a 2.8 non-turbo on a 20ft van is probably as good as my 1.9 turbo on the same sized van.

Hi Steve,

must have been a 2.5, not a 2.8. To my knowledge the 2.5D was the biggest engine without turbo that was ever built by Fiat.

But even if I am wrong: A Turbo Diesel is by all means better than a non-turbo.

Best Regards,
Gerhard

Steve

Our Autostratus is 2.5 D(non turbo) & drives pretty flat especially uphill. My Dad's Nuevo ES is 2.2 turbo diesel & it drives like a Ferrari in comparison

Gear shifter

Without a turbo, more gear shifting and lower climbing speeds are to be expected. Might obstruct a few speedier vehicles on the climb.
