Question Help needed. Buying MH in Spain

Hi all, I came onto this site for a specific reason, so glad I joined!
Anyhow, am UK now resident in Spain and looking to buy a Spanish registered motorhome. (Still learning the lingo, so that is one obstacle). Seen a few privately being sold.
So, am now in contact with a local-ish chap, via Milanuncious (online marketplace). The van he's advertising turns out to be in Germany, and during the conversation (using google translate) the following has transpired.
Let's see, you make up your mind, send me your ID, I send you mine, I go to the company, I pay the shipping and registration, I sign the purchase-sale contract, I pay the management expenses, they will send you the contract of purchase sale and invoice and ask for 20% as a guarantee, and send the motorhome. When you receive it, you have one day to verify it, go with it to your mechanic, and if everything is fine, sign the contract and they will do the registration and change of registration paperwork.
1. Send me your ID and I will send you my ID
2 tomorrow I go to the company first thing in the morning and do the paperwork, sign the sales contract and pay the expenses, shipping and registration
3. the company will contact you and send you the purchase invoice and the sales contract
4 you will pay 20% to the company
5 the company will send you the motorhome
6 you will receive the motorhome and have 1 day to verify it
7 if everything is fine you will sign the contract and pay the rest of 80%
8 the agent that comes with the motorhome will begin the registration procedures in your name

Still learning the way of how the Spanish do things, so am asking if anyone at all on the forum has experience of the above process?

Many thanks

It would be better done face to face. In Spain car buying and registration is often handled by gestors: https://www.gestorias.es

It won't be difficult to find an English speaking gestor. They are not expensive and are there to do things properly.

Seems complicated to me, surely it will be difficult to check out an unknown van in one day (if I read it right) weights and appliances, etc need to be checked, also the base vehicle, personally I'd pass and find one more local.

I smell a scam, what’s to stop them disappearing with your 20% deposit, eBay in the U.K. has many such attempted scams, usually offering a really good deal on bogus Motorhomes. They copy details of genuine motorhomes, including the photos that had previously been advertised elsewhere.

Put them to the test and say you’ll travel with your mechanic and check it out there. I suspect they’ll disappear like a rat down a drainpipe.

I’d agree with Kev and buy local.

I was going to suggest a scam, but I've no idea how they do things outside the UK.

Your proposed method involves three languages two countries, international transport and a shedload of paperwork both ends.
It is also an ideal setup for a scam.
Suggest you take your time.
Suggest you look for a motorhome/caravan camping shop in Spain and ask for any stock for sale.
Try to find a British motorhomer in Spain who can help you check out a possible sale.
Are you on the Costa Blanca ?
