Angry Ventilation to cab

Hi, we have recently bought a Fiat Ducato Swift Ace motorhome. We are not able to get cold air through the heater fan, itís always warm, so we looked under the bonnet and found where the air is drawn in,a large oval intake on the right, but the cover of said intake, which should come down over it when the bonnet is closed, is on the opposite side of the engine bay, ie intake on right - cover on left, so it is drawing in heat off the engine, especially when we are stationary. What I need to know is what is this cover called, so we can buy a right hand one to replace it.? I have scanned many spare parts lists but cannot find this item?
I hope somebody can help, as you probably have gathered, I am a mere woman with no idea what happens under the bonnet! I have added a pic which I found online which shows the set up of our engine, the intake is on the right and as you can see the cover is above it, not so on ours!

Is it not possible to fit the air scoop attached to the wrong side of your bonnet to the correct side of your bonnet to align with the bulkhead fresh air intake ?

Possible that the original bonnet has been replaced with a LHD bonnet.

Thanks for your comments. Is ďair scoopĒ the name of the part?
It will not fit on the right side, there are definitely left hand and right hand parts. The van may have had the bonnet changed I suppose, but as the van has only done 14000 miles from new and in vgc, I canít imagine why. Just need to source the relevant part.
Thanks

Bonnet Air Scoop is my best description, I suggest you visit a Fiat commercial dealer they will have parts diagrams on screen to help determine your exact requirements, or contact a MH breaker for a secondhand part.

Yes it should , the cover in question is attached to the underside of the grill, but is on the wrong side. The cover is on the left, the air intake is on the right. Someone has suggested that the bonnet has been changed for some reason, and a left hand drive one put on in error? I just need to source the correct part but donít know what it is called? It should be easy to change as it is all plastic and bolted on.🤔

Just checked mine and the plastic attached to the inside of bonnet is not reversible as it’s all one piece. They are obviously right and left hand versions, as stated earlier only option is a fiat dealer or breaker.

If you bought this from a dealer I would suggest you go back to them to have the fault rectified.

I assume the picture in your first post ISNT of your vehicle as the scoop in that picture appears to be on the correct side.

Andy

Its not the destination that matters.

It's who you share the journey with (even if itís in a caravan!) I am very fortunate to have Mrs Plodd to share mine with
