I'm really not into the Kennel Club thing, with long pedigrees and all the inbreeding that comes from that. I just want a little dog that's healthy and happy, and if that means she has a touch of the tarbrush in her past somewhere I don't mind at all. My Dusty had a tail that bent off to one side a bit so wouldn't have won any fancy dogshow prizes, but she won my heart and that's all that mattered.

Thanks for the link, scrinchy, it upsets me to see these breeding bitches being discarded like that, all with behavioural issues because they've been treated as commodities, never socialised or loved. I bet a lot of those breeders were KC accredited an'all. I'd like to see some of these breeders treated the way they treat their dogs. Ill treatment of any animal sickens me, it really does. Feeling all miserable now. Bugger!

We have bred 4 litters in over 40 years of having pedigree dogs. If you are going to stereotype people then you are on your own. I have tried to give good advice but you obviously lump us all as heartless beasts being cruel to animals.

You are on your own now, I hope you get the dog you want.

That's OK, Scrinchy, I'm just a silly old git with a big soft spot for animals and maybe just feeling a bit in the doldrums tonight. No worries, OK?

Jumbo, before you start getting all shirty with me please read my post again.

My reference to breeding bitches was in relation to Scrinchy's link, did you have a look at it?

The Kennel Club/Krufts 'business' is well documented and some breeds of dog are so inbred due to the KC's strict criteria that they are inherently unhealthy in their physical make-up. Sure the KC have apparently changed their tune now, but only because it was forced on them by public opinion and the Beeb deciding to withdraw coverage of Krufts.

Nowhere have I linked all breeders together. We are in complete agreement that care needs to be taken when sourcing a puppy, and rest assured I will be taking that care.

If my ideas don't fit with yours, so be it.
