Solo Plans for 2013

There seems to be plenty of interest for a solo meet but getting to one place over a specific time period is a logistical challenge.

If you would like to post your plans on this thread, assuming you're willing to meet up with other solos, then perhaps I can put some form of order into them.

Meet-ups don't have to be strictly solo events - maybe just the chance for solos to meet up at any event or in company of couples too.

My tentative plans for 2013 so far are:
Peterborough Rally 3rd weekend April (see rally listings)
MHF Meet at Denia/Calpe Spain - 2nd/3rd week May (see rally listings)
Informal meet at Amboise France in June (see xgx's earlier post)

I plan to stay a while in Europe so more plans to come and I look forward to hearing about other interesting events.

Hi Viv
Looking forward to seeing you in Amboise!

Meantime I've been looking at possibilities for September... quite fancy doing a round trip from Calais to Chemnitz, Dresden, Berlin, Bad Harzburg, Bad Pyrmont and Herford areas and back to Calais via Holland and Belgium.

I've also been looking, as an alternative, at doing a bit of the German Alpenstraße and coming back via the Schwartzwald and/or Strasbourg, Luxembourg (Fuel!)
goining from Calais and back.

I'm content to go solo but wouldn't say no to a bit of company for some or all of it

NB
I have not included the Romantische Straße!! (see, I can do subtle :P )

Hi Viv,

Heading for Morocco at the end of March. Probably stay there a couple of months. After that will spend some time in Spain and France. Plan to head home mid August.

I'll watch this space to see where y'all are

Adapt to change quickly. The quicker you let go of old cheese, the sooner you can enjoy NEW CHEESE.

This looks like an interesting itinerary, Graham! Google records exactly 2000km departing Calais and returning via Hook of Holland (as opposed to Calais). I know Berlin is an interesting city to visit, but I don't know much about the rest of the route. What's worth seeing in this area?

All contributions welcome!!!

Have you considered the Denia meet 6-20 May if you'll be in Spain around that time? Promises to be good to go by reportbacks of previous years' meets. There's still lots of places available and quite a few "rally virgins" booked in.

Come on all you singles, what are you up to in May?

I'll be heading up to the Amboise get-together in June after the meet, 2 weeks to get there. But haven't yet decided whether to go via Perpignan and Cahors or via Zaragoza, Pamplona and Bayonne/N10.

Any suggestions anyone?

Viv

Hi Viv,

Did look at this but decided that it was too early. Having travelled all the way to Morocco I want to spend at least 2 months there - it's a big country and there's a lot to see.

September will be France ... probably the NW corner but I'm tempted to re-visit the Dordogne and maybe go on to Provence.

No passengers, but happy to meet up with other Motorhomers!!
