Where is the cab aerial ?

I bought a van with no stereo. So, been an bought one, with some spekaers, from halfords and made a pretty fine job of fitting it (reverse camera and all sorts). The van never had a stereo previously, but the wiring looms were there for everything.

problem - although the connector for the aerial was present, the van doesn;t actually have a pysical aerial stuck on it anywhere. So, i'm trying to trace the aerial lead that appears in the stereo fitting hole - back to some point that i can attach the physical arial stub. But can't find it. Anyone have a clue where the aerial cable runs ?

2004 Fiat cab with McLoius Glen body.

Thanks - Would i be right that this is internal? And if so, then i'm presuming that the aerial cable runs up the pillar?....

Hi Boss

I've moved you to the McLouis forum. You should get more responses there.

Hi,
If your van has the original cab interior light try flicking it out, I found the cut off end of mine behind it,
Chris.

The Fiat aerial would have been cab roof mounted originally, likely as not the converters have just cut it off when they mounted the M/H body and left the lead in place. We had a Ahorn a few years ago (McLouis derivative) and that's what they'd done. Easiest solution is to just fit a new aerial and ignore the existing wiring.

BTW: Our wiring ran up behind the trim on the L/H door pillar and then into the space between the cab roof and lining.

Help someone out when they're in trouble and they'll remember you when they're in trouble again.

Ducato of that vintage will very likely have the aerial in the door mirror housing, sorry can't remember which side

Ordered a new , glass fitted aerail today. Will fit and just run new wiring, instead of trying to find the existing. It wasn't anywhere near the cab roof light in the end, so new fitting is the easiest answer. Thanks for all the replies !
