Thetford C250 Cassette

Hi All

Can anyone throw any light on the Float Stem on the Thetford C250 Toilet cassette.

I decided today to bite the bullet and open up the cassette for a full clean

Looking inside I saw a downward pipe with a small circular pad at the end with no idea what it was.

I deduced that the small panel on the face of the cassette would remove as this is where this THING is inside.

On opening I found what I can only describe as a plastic rocker with attachments either side.

I rang CamperUK in Lincoln to try and find out what it was so I knew what it did and if I needed to replace it as the cassette is almost 11 years old lol,
The could not tell me what its purpose was. I realise it is some kind of vent but that is it.

Can anyone throw any light on it please.

Thanks

Dave

You could buy a fresh-up kit which includes a new cassette and a new seat for less than £100 Dave.

Yes saw one on Ebay, but HWMBO is a Yorkshire lass and thinks this cassette should last 23 years lol

Going to see over the next 2 days whether the smell has improved, if not I will order one and face the wrath later lol

Cheers

CamperUK emailed me the very same diagram. It numbers the parts but neither tells you what its purpose is and/or when to replace it ?

Very pleased with our refresh kit and you get a new toilet seat.

We immediately removed the rocker piece you describe before it falls off. It links to a magnet in the compartment and floats up to tell you when the cassette is full................but I find we tend to know that anyway

Just something else to get smothered in you know what and toilet paper. What a poor design

Right we going to design something that will be filled with sh*t...........so it needs to have plenty of corners and crevaces and as many moving parts as possible.
