Personal medical cover for USA/Canada

I am about to attend a presentation with the Camping and caravan club regarding touring USA and Canada. When I looked into this 3 years ago, I hit problems as I was just completing treatment for cancer. I now have the all clear and I am looking at this again. Can anyone advise on possible medical insurance cover.

They will probably still take that into account - as insurers try to find everything that they can to increase their profit and reduce their risk.

Contact one of the cancer charities as they often have encountered such problems before and have answers from a wide range of people.

Any typo that I make means the errorists win.

Any comments above are only MY OPINION and should be read as that.

Can I ask how old you are or possibly the age of your spouse?
The reason is if you have a Gold Card with any of the major banks you might qualify for overseas travel insurance? We used this insurance until we were 70 and now have a French Gold Card with no upper age limit.

Ray.

The FSA licensed a twice convicted fraudster to handle our life“s savings. Guess what? He robbed us of £750,000. http://raynipper.com

We still qualify for travel insurance from Nationwide (they have discontinued it for new customers). People with "conditions" are given the number for UK Insurance to obtain cover for their extra needs 0800 051 0154.

A friend's parents were with Saga when his father was taken seriously ill. They told us that they could not fault them but I am not sure about existing conditions.

NFU also get a very high rating from Which?. They do everything over the telephone and it is a very looong process.

My brother lives in the States. Be aware that they charge for things like a ride in an ambulance ($2,000 dollars from memory) if it is not covered by your insurance. He had a very good policy but was not covered for that
