Gary, as a former (?) member, of MHF would know not to use the G-Word. But he should have known better than to park up in a motorway aire. Maybe he thought his two gorgeous huskies were a deterrent. Obviously not. If you're reading this Gary, thanks for the timely reminder and better luck next time. Safe travels.

Personal Aire
Why anyone would park up on a motorway service station anywhere including the UK is beyond me. Your not spoilt for choice here in the UK but in France you are. Just get off the motorway, find a village aire or just a back road and stop where you like.

It was a low end American RV. Looks like the owners were affluent I guess.

I donít know how old the thread is

Met Gary on the ďNorthern meetĒ along with his dogs several years ago

Obviously not the same dogs if the thread is that old

Iím really surprised though that someone could enter the van whilst the dogs were in

Shadow sleeps in our bedroom/ on suite bathroom and travels between them all night

He hurls himself on the hard floor of the bathroom and pads back to his own bed in the bedroom throughout the night

And I am aware of his travels, remove his chain collar at night so itís less like the sounds of the walking dead as it rattles

In the MH he changes places of sleep throughout the night

Now he wouldnít welcome an intruder, bad tempered hound that he is, but if he did I doubt he would open one eye , lie still and go back to sleep

When friends and family visit he fusses around them for attention , and I guess even a small dog would do that

Iím still at a loss to know how someone could enter a MH with two dogs without the owner being aware of the change of tempo in the dogs

Even if they are just welcoming the intruders

Sandra

Canít risk having the sound on (too early) but guess the content.

We had a first hand account from someone who woke up to find a knife being held to his throat. Did not hear a thing before that. He did not claim to be gassed. People do not realise what they can sleep through. Chris once slept through a collision outside our house followed by me leaning out of the bedroom window while having a conversation with a neighbour in the road.

We advised people to leave a dummy purse, wallet and phone out after the knife incident .
