Have you applied for Blue Badge yet Sandra? You definitely should have one.

It will make motorhoming a lot easier for you.

No I havenít Barry
Having read the blurb is doesnít look that easy

Will they understand that sometimes I can go days or weeks unable to walk

Followed by a time when Iím too stiff to walk far outside

And in general canít walk that far anyway

And if the car door isnít open fully I canít get out

Which buggers me up for driving myself

As I canít park in wide disabled parking

And need to be let out before parking

Watched a very pregnant woman walking today

And yes thatís exactly how I need to walk now

I knew I remembered it

Went yesterday to a christening

My granddaughters half brother

How he survived Iíll never know

born at 6 months , meningitis twice

Welcome Zac

Standing, sitting was really getting to me

A stranger behind tapped my shoulder

Just stay sitting she said

It was a lovely service and a lovely buffet

Her dad kept on saying so glad you came

why?

23 years ago we told him , we will do everything in our power to make sure she knows her dad

And for 23 years weíve kept in touch with him

He adores her and she him

And the guy her mum married has been a brilliant second dad

She has such a huge family outside of ours

And little Zac is the latest addition

I might look into that, although I believe you need to have one leg in your box before they will let you have one.

Your physical condition sounds very similar to my wifeís Sandra. I said that I didnít think she would qualify for a disabled parking badge but we filled in the application anyway. The result was that she has to attend an assessment, this comprised a chat with a lady who seemed to have something of a medical background coupled with physio background.

They had a chat about my wifeís condition and we described how she could not get out of the car unless the door was capable of being fully open, and if she returned to the car solo she would have to wait for the driver of an adjacently parked car to return before she could get back into her car. When the discussions were concluded they then went for a walk outside, it quickly became apparent that my wife was struggling after about 50 yards up a slight incline. We were told that there would be a meeting with other staff member when a decision would be made.

A week later the badge arrived, so do proceed with your application, on our experience you stand a good chance of success.

Before doing anything I'd check out the blue badge forums, there are a few it seems, better to go in prepared.

A Fitbit is a watch that counts the steps you take - I thought that would be helpful for you to know how many steps you'd covered - so that you don't go too far for getting back comfortably. I think you might find it really useful.

But I'm sure there are apps for the phone would do the same thing.

Good luck with the application!
