If you don't like reading it don't bother - it is nothing to do with me being pedantic but one hell of a lot to do with my 38 years+ spent as an educator.

If you do not need the education so be it others may benefit from it and may wish to consider the contents before posting similar type accounts in future.

As I said - it is to do with me trying to help people understand why such historic accounts can and should be discarded as not being of any credence.
Sorry, but it's everything to do with being pedantic (A person fond of making over-fine distinctions, or one insisting on strict adherence to or interpretations of rules, etc / Unduly rigorous formality)

My reply to your post was as nothing compared to the tone of your reply to the original poster. More lectures like yours in reply to quite harmless postings and we will lose even more members than we have already.

I'm pretty sure it's not a first Andy. I can remember surprising myself by agreeing with you once before. I think.

Or else those of us who care to read and digest informative posts will have a fuller understanding of the topic.

That's the one I'd go for, but then I like to learn things I didn't know.

So in your opinion we should allow false posts to be issued?

OK thank you for that advice - I will ignore it.

Thinking of ALL the front line staff working to try to help others;Doctors, nurses, paramedics, cleaners, NA's, catering staff, support services and all others. Their work is appreciated more than you can ever realise-keep strong and safe.

Any typo that I make means the errorists win.

Remember Jo Cox and what she stood for.

Any comments above are only MY OPINION and should be read as that.

From where I sit, Daves post if a bit ott, was very informative, although I learned sod all, objecting to it seems a bit odd TBH, or maybe ott, but I'm a simple bloke and half answers never work for me as the teler is assuming I know more than I do, which more often than not I actually know less than I know about a hell of a lot of stuff.

Well it is 5:38am.

Whilst I too like to learn things as I go through life I seldom read full/near full page posts as they do have a habit of becoming rather tedious part way through (imho).

On this particular subject it has been done to death so many times so I skipped the biggie from Penguin...

Well I thought Penquin's rationalisation was excellent and interesting but long posts won't drive me away. But not everyone has the stamina/reading skill to wade through a whole page of detailed scientific information. Like some people can read pages of instructions and others don't/can't. Different strokes for different folks. Anyone is welcome to pass over anything they don't want to read, short or long, but if anyone wants to be pedantic, go for it. It's your choice!
