Why are railway workers blocking a port?

Probably a silly question since it is France.

Unless the blockade is 'on shore'

WARNING.!!... The above post may contain an opinion

Academia and government artificially select for particular traits, among which is a lack of life experience. This is why it's possible for a person to be exceptionally bright while failing to grasp something as rudimentary as supply and demand.

Intellectuals: All engine, no map.

Our Special Foreign Correspondent is still sitting in her car waiting to embark – blockade to last until 1800 today - www.lavoixdunord.fr

Her grasp of French is somewhat dubious as the strikers are members of the Northern Maritime Union of the shipping company My Ferry Link (MFL) – not SNCF

MFL workers called a lightning strike aboard the Berlioz this morning - to last until 6pm. The Rodin is waiting outside the port along with a couple of P&O vessels.

This is just the first salvo in what I think will be a spring and summer of such actions leading up to the deadline of July to stop sailing to Dover.

Eurotunnel might just decide to pull the plug on MFL
