This is a slightly updated version of the one we got. Although it's 2000W max, you can set it to lower levels in various steps. We've used it widely including in France where the supplies can be low, and never had a problem.

Looks like a good price, too:


I'm sure you're already aware, you can only use these with steel/cast iron pans, not aluminium. I've found it works particularly well with our steamer and also our cast-iron (Creuset?) omelette pan.

You do also need to have it fairly level, otherwise I've found pans 'walk' off it!
