Habitation door lock on 2005 Autotrail Tracker EKS

Autotrail Tracker EKS 2005 habitation door lock.
The door locking mechanism has failed previously and we managed to fix it ourselves, (quoted £550). This was a small plastic moulding that failed. Now, the lock has failed again, this time it is a die cast lever that has snapped. Has anyone else had a similar problem, or does anyone know who the manufacturer of the door is, or can the bits be obtained without buying the whole door???

Hi Kaypea

Ring Paul Bolton up at Auto Trail 01472571000 and ask him.

Best Regards

Autotrail Tracker EKS 2005 habitation door lock

Thanks to Broom for prompt reply. I rang Paul boulton, but unfortunately the parts are no longer available and the manufacturer of the mechanism has gone out of business, so have drawn a blank there. However, a neighbour who is an engineer and model maker (steam engines) has just reproduced the part over the weekend and it looks like we should soon have an operational doo again. Many thanks, Kaypea

Don't hold your breath Mike.

The last time Kaypea visited the site was 10th June last year!

habitation door

I've been very, very fortunate as Chelston found me one in an old lock they had.
Everyone else has said they are not available.
I had intended getting one made locally, or the old one welded as I had all the bits.
Good hunting..

Autotrail Habitation door lock

The habitation lock is working but the lever inside does not open the door. I would like to take the door panel off to inspect the mechanism. Is there any particular technique traps to be aware of?

Depending which model of door you have I have several Euramax doors available for spares , these are mainly around 2007 / 2008 models, failing that I have about 10 new doors listed on fleabay that may be of use
