Wotcha !

We are just coming to the end of our first year with our 2005 high-roof, LWB Renault Trafic - based Danbury Active Campervan. I guess we're among many recent 'newbies' and know we have a lot to learn about things. So far we've only used the van for day trips but keep telling ourselves we should try sleeping in her (it appears from the paperwork that one of her owners christened her "Mabel" !) - we both feel that the first night should be on the drive !!
Our model has 2 rear seats that Rock 'n Roll into single beds & although they seem wide enough, I'm currently knocking up a pair of short 'cot side'-inserts to prevent any unintentional exits during sleep! We'd like to link up in particular with those of you who have the same campervan model - although it seems relatively rare - or share the vehicle or habitation OEMs but also look forward to contributing to the community on here more generally where we can.

Hi and welcome to MHF, sorry but I would be of no use to you for any info on camper vans having never even been in one.

Hi DNHB and welcome to the Forum. As you will have probably realised, most of the regulars are on their travels just now and not logging on as often as normal.

With regards to your query about your water tank, may I suggest that you give Danbury a ring and ask them, you will receive an answer straight from the horses mouth.

I've been in many Campervans as a visitor but have never owned one, therefor not sure as to the layout of tanks etc.

Hi and welcome DNBH.

Your idea of camping on the driveway is an excellent one,and often suggested when someone gets a new, or new to them, vehicle. Then you don't have far to go for the essential item you forgot to pack!

I don't k ow, but I suspect there are lots of similarities between camper vans an MHs so ask away. I gather from Drew's reply you already have!

Thanks - that was my first thought but Danbury have been absorbed by Vanworx over the last year & I didn't get anywhere when I phoned as those who would have known had left & no one knew if there were any records or if there were, where they were!

You'd need to be a mounting goat to camp on our drive.

Good idea to be within reach of home comforts/things as you try it out. Driveway is good. Then go on a tour for a week.
