Oyster Vision 2

Hi Everyone. I have been trying to solve a problem of why this second hand unit I have is not working when previous owner had no issues at all.
After stripping it down to find out why it would not lift and then rotate etc, I have found out now what the problem has been right from the start.
When it was removed from previous owner van, the hole in the roof was not big enough to pass through the large 14 pin plug, so the pin wires were removed from the plug so just the wires could pass through the hole with no problem and all the wires were then bundled all together and taped up.
This mean't it was never going to work until it was all reassembled back together again.
But my problem is now a technical one, all of the wires are in different colors and it is obvious the must go back into the plug in the correct sequence, or it may blow the controller Black box.

Please anyone out there I need to know what colored wires go into what pin position.
I am trying to find out via the manufactures, but I just keep getting passed from person to person. All I want is to know is what wire goes into where in the plug.
Thank you for anyone who can help

Have you tried these guys, they have a good customer service reputation, they will want the serial number from your unit to ensure it's not a stolen unit as they often get such contact.

That is only two days away!

It might be worth semi dismantling the socket and seeing if the wires in it are the same colours. If so simply wire up the dismantled plug so the same coloured wires correspond?

Unless of courre the socket is on the back of a box and you cannot get to the wires to see how it’s set up.

Its not the destination that matters.

It's who you share the journey with (even if it’s in a caravan!) I am very fortunate to have Mrs Plodd to share mine with

Problem solved now, as I contacted Oyster Sat-Tech again, and explained my Delmer and they kingly sent me some pictures of the correct pin formation into the plug which goes into the Black box controller unit. I made a temporary connection as I don't want to clip the wires into the plug until it has passed through the roof of my van. I connected up to a power sauce and up went the dish and it then searched for Astra 2 satellite, after about a minute it found the station and there you are. what was all the fuss about, hindsight is a marvelous thing don't you agree.

Great result Trelawney.

Would it be an idea to put the photos up on this thread - in case someone is looking for a solution in the future?
